They were all about the same price (Fantom Xa was used so it was a bit cheaper). I don't want the crispest sounds out there, rather warm sounds but I didn't think the Fantom sounded warmer than the mo6, rather a bit muffled in comparison. The sounds of the Fantom and the Juno didn't sound as good as the mo6. I've checked out the Juno-g, the Fantom Xa and the Yamaha mo6. The other guys at other music stores were helpful. The guy came up with a Yamaha Tyros II that costs about 3000€.WTF? If I had that kinda money I'd buy a Triton Extreme or something which is about 1000€ cheaper than the Tyros. I asked for good solutions for me around the 1000€ pricetag. One music store was a complete waiste of time.

So I had a 4 day weekend and went to various stores to check out some keyboards. So any thoughts/advice on this? I'm definately gonna try 'em out at my local shop as soon as possible but I'm just trying to gather as much info, experience, thoughts, etc about gear I wanna buy before making the actual purchase. I don't know about the yamaha though. To me it kinda sits in between. I really like the fact that it has resonant filters and the chord memory looks like a fun feature since I can't really play keys (yet).įrom checking online demo's (I know those aren't always representative for the real thing) it seems to me that the tr61 sounds the best (at least to me). I've read that the build quality of the juno-d isn't all that so I'm a bit reluctant about the juno-g.

Than I was left with the juno-g vs the mo6 vs the tr61. So I pretty much abandoned the 500€ keyboards. So after checking out the 500€ range, I took a look at the 1000€ range and it seems those already sound a lot better. I'm just an amateur but I take my music very seriously and I'd rather buy something decent that I don't wanna replace after a year or so. I don't want them the be as crisp as possible, but I'd rather have a warmer sound instead of a crisper sound.Īt first I looked at the 500€ keyboards (juno-g, mm6, x50) but I'm afraid that won't cut it for me in the long run. Basically I wanna use it with my mpc and I'm looking for good realistic sounds (drums, piano's, electric piano's, organs, strings, brass. So I've been looking at buying a synth for quite some time now.
